VW Bro Fernando Bautista Drops Working Tools: 24 June 2010

Brethren,

One of the Pillars and foundation of Lincoln Lodge No. 34 and Worthy Bro. VW Fernando Bautista dropped his working tools this morning, past 3:00 am. He is now on that undiscovered country and in the care of the GAOTU, where travelers never return. May he rest in peace.

------------------------------------

VWBro Fernando 'Nanding' Baustista is not only a brother to most of us, but also a Dad to countless of Teodoro R Yangco DeMolays & Jobies of Bethel No 1. He was very active in these two young peoples' organisations as well as other Masonic appendant organisations at Lincoln Lodge.

We are all saddened by his demise and we will remember him in our prayers; as well as his surviving family - most of whom are also our brothers in DeMolays & sisters in Jobies.

May he rest in peace in the bosom of God!

Fraternally,

Bro Mario Baylon Jr

Iligan Lodge No 207 on the web

Good day Kuya!

I'm Pat D. Noel of Iligan Lodge No. 207, Iligan City. I accidentally came across your blog while surfing the net. It's good to know of a brother who take the effort to collate blogs of Pinoy Masons from all over the world.

I have just started making a blog which generally contains activities of our lodge [and it's a coincidence that we use the same template. :-) ] [Mod note: I guess the blue colour of the template suits our Craft.].

I hope you could add the link to our blog to your site [done!]. This is our blogsite http://iliganlodge207-freemason.blogspot.com./

Thank you very much and more power.

May the GAOTU continue to light our path.

Fraternally and sincerely,

Bro. Pat D. Noel

BusinessWorld Weekender: Clash of the dogmas

BusinessWorld Weekender: Clash of the dogmas

"One tends to forget the rift between The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines and the Roman Catholic Church until pulled up short by the news that a prominent citizen, in good standing with civic society, is suddenly barred from Church rites.

Take the case of the late Quezon Governor Rafael Nantes, who because of his status as a freemason and Born Again Christian, was denied a Catholic burial last May; instead, he was buried at a private cemetery at the foot of Mount Banahaw in Lucban. No mass could be officiated in his presence (although his mortal remains could be blessed, and prayers for his soul were encouraged).

In contrast, all civic pomp was observed in the funeral cortege, accorded an honor guard from the military and police. Dignitaries paid their respects, including president-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, and recently retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno. (Incidentally, Mr. Puno is also a freemason, in fact a past Grand Master -- the highest elected legislative officer in a Masonic Lodge -- and may suffer a similar snub from the Church in the future. Currently serving his one-year-term as Grand Master is Gen. Avelino I. Razon, Jr.)"
