PMAAI or the Philippine Masonic Association of America is a federation of various Filipino Masonic organizations in the US. They hold their annual convention at various locations; the last was hosted by the Filipino Travelers of Great Lakes last August 29, 30 and 31, 2008 at Marriot Lincolnshire, Ten Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, Illinois.
This year, it looks like they are holding it outside of the continental US. They even have a special blog to drum up interest. Please visit their blog for more info and be regaled by the YouTube presentations.

Congrats to Bagong Buhay No 17

Mga Kuyang,
Join me in congratulating the recipients of the following awards:
Most Outstanding Lodge of Masonic District IV-A Cavite for MY 2008 : Bagong Buhay Lodge No. 17 F. & A.M. GLP
Most Oustanding Worshipful Master of Masonic District IV-A Cavite for MY 2008 : VW Bro NATHANIEL S. GOLLA PM, DGL, Bagong Buhay Lodge # 17 WM Masonic Year 2008
The awards were conferred during the District Turn-Over Cermonies of Masonic District IV-A Cavite on May 16, 2009 at Primera Luz Filipina Lodge No. 69 F. & A.M. GLP Temple. No less than the Grand Master, MW Bro Peter U. Lim Lo Suy of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of thePhilippines graced the ocassion.
To my mother lodge and her sons-- Congratulations!
To the Master of our lodge who piloted her to safety while rebuilding her along the way. I was a witness last year and I saw how he held on to that steering wheel like a real captain of an old galleon ship, gripping it so tight until his hands were numbed. But young as he was then, he never let go, thus our famous mantra in Bagong Buhay; "this too shall pass"; and he did steer us to the right direction. Congratulations Kuyang Nathz! May your tribe continue to increase.
On the level,
Brother Sernan Donacao

Lodge Balmain Celebrates 150th Founding: 16 May
Lodge Balmain No 23 [UGL NSW & ACT*] will be celebrating it’s 150th founding this Saturday, 16 May at a reconsecration ceremony and banquet at Laurelbank Masonic Centre [87 Penshurst St Willoughby NSW 2068] starting at 4:00 PM.
As one of the oldest lodges in the jurisdiction, Lodge Balmain has its share of other lodges that amalgated with it; like Lodge Waratah-Pacific, which also amalgated with Lodge Pacific and Lodge Biloela in the recent past.
According to a news item by Eleanor Pearson in the Cumberland Courier,
"The lodge was founded by a shipwright at Balmain in 1859 when sailing was the only way to cross the Pacific.
About 40 sea captains have been members and even now membership includes a shipwright and navy personnel.
When the lodge meets each month members toast their seafaring forbears, ring a bell from an old ship, Westralia, and sing a seafaring ditty."
Filipino members of this lodge are VWBro Vergel Valderamma, WBro Bobby Briones, WBro Romy Nieto and WB Nep Reyes.
The Pinoy Masons Worldwide congratulates the officers and members of Lodge Balmain No 23 on this momentous occasion; especially members with Filipino heritage.

Talavera Lodge Thank Baliuag Lodge: Medical Mission
The brethren of Talavera Lodge 273 headed by the 3 incumbent lights would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the officers and members of Baliuag Lodge No. 301 as represented by their petitioner Dr. Sherwin Plamenco who extended his professional services in support of Talavera Lodge 273's community outreach medical and circumcision mission held at Brgy. San Isidro, Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija last May 11, 2009.
Dr. Sherwin Plamenco, an opthalmologist consultant of the PJ Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center provided his professional consultation services and medicines for free to about 50 indigent patients who sought opthalmology consultation and were really grateful of the medical mission spearheaded by our lodge. Unfortunately due to time constraints, the remaining patients will be pick-up and transported to Talavera on May 23, 2009 for our second Medical Mission.
To our worthy brethren of Baliuag Lodge 301, maraming-maraming salamat po and we are all convinced that Dr. Plamenco will be an asset to our ancient craft.
